Indian School of Public Policy

TRBC was commissioned by the Center for Civil Society, a prestigious Indian think tank to design a world-class education institute in Qutub Institutional Area in New Delhi, which endeavours to cultivate future leaders for the country by offering post graduate programs in public policy. The site was a two-floor interior space split between administration and curricular activity.

A decidedly Indian palette drawing upon associative memory of institutional spaces was used, with extensive use of red brick and yellow Jaisalmer stone, balanced with a soothing tactile white texture. Grey, straight lines fuse the traditional with the contemporary and are enhanced by the use of Nagpur Teak in furniture.

The space flows out of the Reception area and into the students’ library, which is a central accessible receptacle volume fed by the students’ lounge, classroom and a passage leading to the cafe outdoors.
